Hey loves! [Today’s episode is 14+ recommended as we unpack some stuff about sex that’s more for older teens.] I went on the birth control pill when I was 15 or 16 (honestly I don’t remember, I should probably text my mom -- she’ll remember) -- and I felt super empowered and kinda femininst and mostly coooooool. I -- real talk -- wanted people to see me not so subtly taking my pill pack out of my bag to take it every time my daily alarm went off. ;) Fast forward to now and I know so much more about the pill that NO ONE TOLD ME (even and especially my pretty cool doctor(s) at the time!!). I’m talking… negative side effects we brush off, long term potential impacts of not ovulating for years, and why going on the pill so early can MESS YOU UP. I asked Nicole Jardim, author of Fix Your Period and the “Period Girl”, to come hang with me today and give us the full story about the pill. Come listen, and share this one with someone who needs it! Xoxox, Eliza
